Sewa americorps programs

Sewa USA is partnered with AmeriCorps Texas and manages direct service AmeriCorps State Volunteers that serve key roles in Sewa’s Disaster Preparedness, Education and Community Center programs. Through Sewa’s coordination, AmeriCorps volunteers:

  • Organize and lead community disaster preparedness workshops in Houston ISD schools, community centers, online and at ASPIRE community centers

  • Organize and lead community health workshop in ASPIRE community centers

  • Provide academic support, tutoring and mentoring for at-risk students in Houston ISD schools and ASPIRE community centers

Serving as an AmeriCorps volunteer is a wonderful chance to assist the community as part of a nationally-recognized program. Most AmeriCorps volunteers with Sewa serve a part-time role of about 25 hours per week and receive a monthly stipend.
